Peerreview

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to SOCILIB: Journal of Social and Library Sciences are reviewed carefully to ensure quality, originality, and relevance.

Initial Editorial Screening

Each submitted manuscript is first evaluated by the editor to assess its suitability with the aims and scope of SOCILIB, compliance with author guidelines, and overall scholarly quality. At this stage, manuscripts are also screened for methodological soundness and similarity level using plagiarism detection tools (e.g., Turnitin).

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s basic requirements or fall outside the journal’s scope may be rejected without external review.

Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers under a double-blind review system, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed.

Reviewers provide critical and constructive evaluations of the manuscript, focusing on originality, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, and contribution to the fields of social sciences and library sciences. Reviewer comments and recommendations are communicated to the corresponding author for revision and response.

Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers’ reports and the author’s revisions, the editor together with the editorial board when necessary will evaluate the manuscript and make a final decision regarding publication. The editor reserves the right to make the final publication decision based on the overall assessment of the manuscript.

The peer review process generally takes approximately 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the availability of reviewers and the extent of revisions required.

Decision Categories

Editorial decisions fall into one of the following categories:

  • Reject
Manuscripts that do not meet the academic standards or scope of SOCILIB will be rejected and will not be considered for resubmission.

  • Revise and Resubmit
Manuscripts require substantial revisions and may be reconsidered after major changes. A revised manuscript may be sent for an additional round of peer review.

  • Accept with Revisions
Manuscripts are conditionally accepted pending minor or major revisions. Revised manuscripts will be evaluated by the editor to ensure that reviewers’ comments have been adequately addressed prior to publication.

  • Accept
Manuscripts are accepted for publication without further revisions.
