About the Journal

SOCILIB: Journal of Social and Library Sciences is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal published biannually (July and December) by CV. Tritama Suka Makmur, in affiliation with Asosiasi Penyelenggara Pendidikan Tinggi Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi (APTIPI) and STAI Ar Risalah Sumatera Barat. The journal is currently in the process of obtaining its electronic ISSN (E-ISSN).

SOCILIB is established to serve as a credible academic forum dedicated to the development of library science and social sciences. The journal provides a scholarly platform for the dissemination of research-based and practice-oriented studies that examine libraries, information institutions, and knowledge practices within clearly defined social science approaches while maintaining a strong foundation in library science.

SOCILIB welcomes research articles, conceptual papers, literature reviews, and practice-based studies that contribute to the advancement of library science and socially grounded library studies, using theoretical, empirical, or critical approaches from the social sciences.

The mission of SOCILIB is to contribute to the advancement of an informed and educated society by publishing high-quality scholarly works in the fields of library science and social sciences. Through the dissemination of rigorous research and professional practices, SOCILIB supports the development of knowledge, critical thinking, and library practices that are socially relevant and responsive to societal needs.

Peer Review Process

SOCILIB applies a double-blind peer review process to ensure the academic quality, integrity, and scholarly value of all published articles. All manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by other journals.

Open Access Policy

SOCILIB implements a full open-access policy, providing immediate and free access to all published articles. Readers are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, and use the content without financial or technical barriers, in accordance with the journal’s licensing policy.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain the copyright of their work and grant SOCILIB the right of first publication. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0), which permits use, distribution, and adaptation of the work with proper attribution to the authors and the journal.

Language of Publication

SOCILIB accepts manuscripts written in Bahasa Indonesia and English, aiming to reach both national and international academic audiences.

Archiving Policy

To ensure long-term preservation and accessibility of published content, SOCILIB supports digital archiving and is committed to participating in distributed archiving systems such as LOCKSS and/or CLOCKSS when applicable.
